FAQ: FAQ

What is included in my membership?

Membership with Sharon Direct Care includes an annual physical exam, wellness and sick visits as well as follow up appointments, medication management and coordination of care with specialists. In addition, you will have the ability to contact Dr. Bluestone via phone, email, SMS and schedule virtual visits when necessary.

Can I get same day appointment?

We will generally accommodate you for a same-day or next day appointment. However, since Dr. Bluestone performs some hospital visits there will be times when he is not available in the office on demand.

Do you accept insurance?

The Direct Primary Care model revolves around eliminating insurance. However, since Dr. Bluestone’s main focus is adult internal medicine, in order to accommodate Medicare patients, we have a created a plan that allows us to accept Medicare Part B only.

Do I still need medical insurance?

Yes. Our practice is not a health insurance program. It is important to maintain health insurance to be used for the coverage of costs for any unpredictable or expensive medical events such as severe illness, hospitalization or surgery. You may benefit from acquiring a high deductible insurance policy to cover those specific situations.
In addition, health insurance covers lab work, medication and specialist visits. Our belief is that spending more quality time with your primary care physician will improve your overall health, and decrease the need for specialist referrals.

Do you accept FSA or HSA cards?

The rules that usually govern HSAs and FSAs tend to be a little complex and differ between companies. Therefore, it is best to contact your benefits manager at your company to discuss paying for our membership. We are happy to work together with you to figure out the best option available.

What are your fees?

For a list of detailed fees, please see our Membership Pricing page here.

Do I have to be a member to be seen by the doctor?

No. We understand that for some people a membership model may not be the right fit. We offer a pay per visit option for those who need physician care one visit at a time. Keep in mind, the pay per visit option does not include after hours access and only includes up to a 30-day supply of medications, as refills need to be monitored on a more regular basis.

Where are you located?

The office is located at 12 Billings Street in Sharon, Massachusetts. We are in the town center, near the local café, restaurants and banks. There is parking right in front of the office as well as additional ample parking in the back.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.

What if I want to end my membership?

You can cancel your membership with Sharon Direct Care at any time as long as you give us a 30-day notice.
